Cobaw Ridge Chardonnay 2013

Cobaw Ridge tend to fly under the radar for one of Australia’s more interesting wine producers, either that, or tend to polarise for their variegated flavours, aromas and textures that seem to emerge from their estate-biodynamic farming and ‘au naturel’ winemaking. Whatever the case, when I taste Cobaw Ridge wines I’m taken, in mind, to wine producers like JJ Morel in Burgundy and Pyramid Valley in Canterbury, NZ. Other wine producers who eke out wines of single sites, great interest, individual personality and a kind of quirk of their regions, yet purity too. Striking wine in a small line-up of Australian chardonnay, this week.
