Lillydale Estate Gewurztraminer 2018

Lillydale Estate is a famous vineyard in the Yarra Valley though its light has been left to fade and die; until now. It was planted in 1976 and then bought by McWilliam’s in 1985, though for all appearances they never seemed to know what to do with it. The brand had its moments but in general it wandered and then withered. The vineyard was more or less abandoned in 2008, sadly, though in 2012 the Zhang family purchased the vineyard and have since set to restoring and re-invigorating it. This Gewurztraminer from 2018 is the first public result. There’s only 120 dozen of it.
