It’s back again for a third year after Covid related interruptions. And we are now delighted to announce our third Wine & Food Tour of Piedmont (Nebbiolo Nirvana 3.5).

This is an amazing opportunity to tour the Langhe & Alto Piemonte regions with importer Ethereal Wines and Gary Walsh (Australia’s pre-eminent writer on Piedmontese wines) and get to understand the terroir.

Ethereal Wines & Gary Walsh are regular travellers through Piedmont and have access to winemakers, cellars and tastings that would may otherwise be unobtainable.

There will be structured tastings at top shelf makers like Vietti, Monchiero, Castello di Verduno, Ruggeri Corsini, Cavallotto, Paitin, Massolino, Musso, Fiorenzo Nada and Produttori.

For the first time the tour will also include Alto Piemonte where we will visit Delsignore (Gattinara), La Palazzina (Bramaterra) and Platinetti (Ghemme).

As with previous tours, there will be a clear emphasis on traditional makers. But it won’t be all about wines, as we will take you to some of our favourite dining traps throughout the region – Piedmont is a gastronomic hotspot in Italy!

Lunches and dinners are arranged with matching wines, where we also have a number of winemakers join us. Almost all meals will be included, however being mainly based in Alba there’s a rest night or two for you to wander around on foot and discover a meal or two of your own.

You will also see the picturesque and magnificent countryside of Piedmont, including guided walks through legendary vineyards like Rocche di Castiglione.

We will also take you to the best Enotecas in the area for buying wines – they can all arrange shipping back to Australia.

All accommodation is included where we will be primarily based at the lovely and very central Hotel Calissano in Alba.
This is a tour suitable for a Nebbiolo novice, part timer or aficionado. There will be something in this for all levels of wine knowledge of the area.
