Bel Colle Barbaresco Pajorè 2016

Pajorè, oh oh
Cantare, oh oh oh oh.

I was chatting with a winemaker chap the other evening, who loves Nebbiolo, but only bothers with Barolo. It’s pretty likely I snorted and called him an idiot, but it was late on and the memories are misty, gin & soda coloured memories… Importer: Ethereal Wines

Lashings of sweet red berries, heaps of floral perfume, aniseed and spice, new leather and sage. Medium-bodied, juicy in the red fruit department, not quite jubey, though certainly bursting with the joy of youth and excitement of vintage 2016. It has a translucent quality, a shimmer of perfume, with ultra-fine pumice stone tannin, and a vibrant finish of excellent length, where fine persistent tannin tussles with fragrant black tea and bright red fruits. Transparency and finesse. It’s a great Barbaresco.
