Wendouree Shiraz 2009

A straight Shiraz from 1919 Eastern vineyard plantings and 1893 Central vineyard bush vines.

My off-site tasting companion, Fluffy Hair Adair, kindly dropped me off a full set of 2009 Wendouree reds for tasting. Very nice of him. Only spent a couple of hours tasting freshly opened bottles as I was anxious that he should take the wines full and quickly – even though I know he has a somewhat alarming penchant for oxidised wines. Anyway, I had to use my oracular skills to see through the haze of gum leaf and structure, to look at what might be.
