Thousand Candles Gathering Field Rose 2017

Yarra Valley rose made with pinot noir (50%) and shiraz. All estate grown. It’s wild fermented in barrel.

Both a complex style and a ripping one. It walks to the beat of its own drum and yet it’s textural and come-hither too. Not a bad combo. Apple, rose petals, hay, earth, wood spice and strawberry tart. That latter note – the strawberry tart bit – is more prominent than the list of descriptors might suggest. I like how expressive this is, how different, how good it feels in the mouth. It’s tangy and tasty.
