This is Teusner’s unoaked blend of grenache, mataro and shiraz. It’s a market place hit and it’s not hard to see why - though when I started drinking this vintage I was initially a bit concerned. You need a subscription to The Wine Front to see this part of the post

I tasted this in July - here it is.

It smells of flyspray, berries and meat. Good tannins, and it while it’s sweet and juicy, it still comes over as being pretty dry. The flavours are of cranberry and summer berries with a touch of pepper and a generally meatiness about it. Quite tasty wine but why the cork? And in a heavy carbon credits bottle too. 89 or 90 I have as a score. On that day I must have been unusually indecisive. Maybe. Drink 2008-2012.

If anyone wants a third opinion, I tasted this in late May and really liked it. I wrote the following in my cellar book at the time:

Clear ruby with a soft ruby rim. Intense plum and juicy black cherry aroma. Fresh juicy black fruit also evident on the palate. Displays excellent length but a slight lemond rind bitterness on the finish. Tannins well in control though. Drinking well young and shows uncommon complexity for an unoaked wine. 90 points. Match with mediterranean food.

I looked at the wine again a couple of hours later and liked it as much or more than I did when I wrote this note. Very nice wine in its style.
