Noon Winery Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2007
The 2007 Noon reds were made in the smallest quantities ever, due to the drought. Limit was a remarkable one bottle per customer, which underlines (as much as anything) the demand for these hand-crafted wines.

Kay Brothers Block 6 Shiraz 2006
It’s a very specific style is the old Block 6. I’d have to think you’d pick it in a blind tasting…but then again I have (in)famously picked a Chateauneuf as Cabernet and Bass Philip Reserve Pinot as Pomeral…amongst other gems..but to my own credit I have been fabulously drunk on each occasion..

La Curio Reserve Shiraz 2007
This wine has what Campbell tells me some winemakers call “Catnip Oak”. I love the term and I don’t mind a bit of the old catnip myself - when it suits the style.

Director’s Cut eh. Does this mean it’s longer, more self-indulgent and boring than usual?

d’Arenberg Ironstone Pressings GSM 2006
They’ve hit the jackpot with this one I think. It’s Grenache 70%, Shiraz 25%, Mourvedre 5% and a 100% convincing example of the blend.

Tim Adams Aberfeldy Shiraz 2006
This is one of those wines that just get slurped too quickly..and it’s probably a bit too expensive for that sort of thing…so be warned. Get your elbow ready and fill your own glass full.
