Seppelt Show Reserve Sparkling Shiraz 2007

Eight years on lees. The most prestigious sparkling red in the world. Traditionally released as a ten year old.

One of the softest wines you will ever encounter. And yet rich. And yet undergrowthy, into leather. It flows with plum, redcurrant and black cherry, menthol and sweet, polished cedarwood humming in the background. It’s pristine and yet it’s complex; it’s seductively fruited and yet secondary characters lap at the edges. It’s ready to drink now and yet it has much time, and expansion, still tucked up its sleeve.

What is The Wine Front?

The WINEFRONT has flourished as a wine review and information site since 2002. We believe in hard work, realistic scoring, reliability and rigorous independence. We cover Australian wine principally but we extend coverage across the wider world of wine. The hunt for the next beautiful wine knows no boundaries. The WINEFRONT is run by Campbell Mattinson, Gary Walsh and Mike Bennie. A full history of reviews and articles is available to subscribers via the WINE SEARCH tab.
