Seppelt Drumborg Vineyard Pinot Meunier 2015

Winemaker Adam Carnaby’s first crack at the variety as a solo wine was in 2013, but that wine didn’t make the market (I did ask if there were hidden bottles about!). About 20% is whole bunch in the ferment mix. Great to see this play happening at Seppelt. Nice duo with the pinot meunier from  across-the-road neighbours, Best’s, too. Pinot meunier as a table wine is the little grape that could, it seems.

Great drinking here, faint meatiness, touch of Autumn leaves, crinkle cut texture, cranberry and pickled cherries, then a feathery blanket of tannin and touch of spicy oak. Fresh as you like perfume goes red fruits, sarsaparilla, young leather. Just medium weight, stacks of personality. Mad drinking. Love it.
