Scorpo Pinot Noir 2003

Scorpo

Dark colour. Spicy and smoky with dark plum/cherry fruit and a good dose of undergrowth. Not rich and fruity - but rather a dry savoury style of wine where complexity and style are more important. Tannins are quite drying and noticable on the finish. The purchase of this wine to drink with dinner pleased me - most enjoyable and a fair price for a Pinot of this quality.

Tasted : Jan06
Alcohol : 13.5%
Price : $34.95
Closure : Cork
Drink : 2006 - 2009

From your description, and in hindthought oh’ learned one, do you think there might have been a touch of Brett there ?

Quite possibly. Nice brett. Smoky brett. Had the wine outside at a restaurant..warmer than it should have been served but the glasses were good. The finish suggests it too.

I would say only the slightest hint and a very pleasant addition.

Wasn’t there a kerfuffle over this wine and brett in the not too distant past?

I think that was the 03 Shiraz. Tim White v Oliver.
