Punt Road Pinot Noir 2012

I’m getting the clear impression that the wines of Punt Road are on the ascendency quality-wise. There’s a clear break in the trend line. Grown on the Napoleone Vineyard.

It’s as good a many $40 plus wines. In fact that’s what you would pick it as. It has class and complexity, straight-up deliciousness and an attractive, structured, ruggedness through the finish. Sweet and sour cherry, some reduction, some volatility, satiny texture through the mid palate but a spicy, grainy gruffness to the tannin. Smells and tastes good. Priced beautifully.

Alcohol : 13%
Price : $29
