Punt Road Napoleone Vineyard Pinot Noir 2015

punt road napoleone pinot noirWinemaker Tim Shand sent through a range of excellent notes on his latest releases but perhaps most pertinent was this remark on the making of the Napoleone Vineyard Pinot Noir: “Mostly open fermented at 20% whole bunch, the blend also contains smaller 100% whole bunch and 100% whole berry ferment batches. I reckon the best way to approach any vintage with pinot noir is to try every technique known to man, leaving yourself the full artist’s palette to work with in blending when the dust settles (particularly important when making single vineyard wines). 2015 being 2015, every approach worked. So it all went in.

What is The Wine Front?

The WINEFRONT is Australia's most active wine review site. It started in 2002 and is, and always will be, entirely independent. It's run by wine lovers for wine lovers. It keeps enthusiasts ahead of the game by reviewing wines as they are released. Its focus is Australian wine but the coverage is open slather across the full wonderful gamut of world wine. It's run by Campbell Mattinson, Gary Walsh and Mike Bennie. A full history of reviews and articles, from the ridiculously sublime to the comically ridiculous, can be accessed via the WINE SEARCH tab.
