Punt Road MVN Cabernet Sauvignon 2005
Most of the best cabernets from the Yarra Valley aren’t all that high in alcohol - as the old brigade of Yarra Valley producers regularly show to good effect. Great to see some of the newer Yarra producers keeping their cabernet alcohol levels low too, even for their super premiums. The MVN range is Punt Road’s top priced gear - there hasn’t been an MVN released since the 2003 vintage, though a 2006 Pinot Noir accompanies the release of this 2005 cabernet. Interestingly, a 2004 MVN Chardonnay was made - but wasn’t released due to a bad batch of corks.
