Proud Primary Produce Off Shore Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir 2017

Viticulturist-cum-winemaker Stu Proud is the custodian of 1000 Candles in Yarra Valley, the home base for his Proud Primary Produce wines, though here he travels to Mornington Peninsula to seek diversity. This wine sees a bit of whole bunch, natural fermentation, the juice pressed out to old oak, the wine pretty much left to its devices until bottling, with a tickle of SO2 before bedtime.

Bright garnet colour. Scents of smoke, malt, red cherries and red plums, char. Palate is crisp and light, juicy with red cherry fruit, sour-leading but loaded with flavour, fine tannins, bright acidity. Delicious, refreshing mouthful by mouthful of pinot noir. Yes thanks.
