Pipers Brook Estate Pinot Noir 2017

An under-performing estate over the last number of years, though I suspect things are on the up.

Red fruits, smoke, a little spice and undergrowth. It’s light and sweet/sappy, red fruits, more built on acidity than tannin, though a gentle rasp of them lends some shape. It tends to fall more towards the front of the palate, than the back, and while it’s not overly complex or concentrated either, does have a certain juicy fresh/autumnal charm. It’s a nice wine, all in all.
