Picardy Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc 2014

Probably my favourite wine from Picardy.

Blackcurrant, raspberry, lead pencils, a little walnutty development (not sure if bottle specific) coming through, and some violet perfume. Medium bodied, again the lead pencil and earthy ‘minerality’, fine acidity, supple but insistent fine grained tannin, and a black tobacco laced finish of fine length. What a wonderful sophisticated drink this is.  It’s sure to warm the heart of any Claret fancier, and to be sure, I can feel a pleasant glow as I taste and write.
