Monchiero Barolo Roere di Santa Maria 2013

Not a lot of this made, from a vineyard in La Morra, and one of a small number of wines from that sub-region that’s not flogged to death with barriques!  Importer: Ethereal Wines

Dusty and spicy, a bit of liquorice, cherry pie and dried flowers. Medium bodied, firm trail of dry and dusty tannin, almost peppery feel, red fruit, ample flavour, and sticky tannin landing on a finish of good length and red fruited succulence. Needs time. Potential here. .
