Monchiero Barolo Rocche di Castiglione 2013

Fascinating to taste this alongside the 2012 vintage. I poured two glasses, without looking at the bottles, just to see if I could work out which vintage was which: it was pretty easy. The 2012 shows a little sweet herb, but mainly offers the easy succulence and softer structure of the vintage – the finer bones perhaps – whereas the 2013 is firmly structured, focused, and very long.  Importer: Ethereal Wines
