The first case didn’t last long - I have drunk buckets of it already. Hopefully the second case will be delivered this week.
Ooops, I was referring to the 2006. The 2007 isn’t available via the website yet. I got the impression from an email of Judy’s that the 2007 won’t be released until the 2006 has sold out, possibly by about Christmas.
I have a 2006 in the pile. I’ll give it a whirl soon myself.

We’re ahead of the game here
Hi guys,
How would you compare the 2006 CS to the 2007?
Grabbed a few cases of the 06. Thoroughly enjoyed the 2005 CS which are drinking beautifully at the moment. For my tastes I preferred the CS to their Shiraz.
cheers
Ant
Ant - I haven’t tasted them side by side but I slightly prefer the 2007. Pretty much splitting hairs though: if you like one you’re pretty much guaranteed of liking the other.
The cab 07 may be available a bit earlier than expected. Bert’s offering just about the whole current range in the lastest Wine* newsletter, including the merlot 05 that’s sold out in the online order form.
Just opened the 2007 Cabernet. Screams better quality than the 2006 for me. More control, especially with regard to the sweet oak handling. More savoury. Better focus throughout the palate. I rate this 2007 similar to Campbell (actually I might have it a point more) but I had the 2006 a number of points less.
Adair
I don’t much remember the 05. The 07 has much the same initial maltiness of the 06. Adair is right the 07 being more savoury than the 06 but I don’t think it “screams” better quality. Perhaps it’s the oak treatment, the mealy character but Mike seems to have developed a consistent style for the cab IMO. There’s nice ripe fruit, a bit plummy on the fore palate, some cassis, sweet/sour black cherry and a hint of violets on the medium length finish, supported by soft, ripe, rounded tannins. As with the 06 and to quote Campbell, “I could drink buckets of this”, especially at the price. Thank you Mike for the wines and thank you Judy for your impeccable, personal service.
Had this for dinner last night with friends. Really good drink. 2nd bottle of 24 so much pleasure to come. Have to agree with the personal service. Ordering from Judy was like chatting with a friend.
I’ve only spoken to Judy on the phone once, I think, perhaps twice. But I have exchanged a number of emails with her - she’s always been most congenial.
