Logan Ridge Of Tears Orange Shiraz 2016

Half of this wine spent six months on skins post ferment; the other half was pressed straight off to ferment in barrel.

It’s a taut, structural, elegant red wine. That is not code for unripe; it carries berried flavours inlaid with spice, and has good momentum from start to finish. Twigs, herbs, woodsmoke and spice notes make for a savoury impression, for sure, but it feels confident and sure-footed. It’s not intense or heavy or anything like that; it’s measured out in teaspoons. It’s a wine of finesse. It’s nicely done.
