Logan Ridge Of Tears Mudgee Shiraz 2016

Logan makes a Ridge of Tears Shiraz from each of Mudgee and Orange each year. This is the Mudgee version. It’s always interesting tasting them side-by-side.

This shiraz from Mudgee is a punchy release; it’s bold with fruit and grunty with tannin, and while the profile certainly isn’t sweet there’s an overriding sense of ripeness here. Kirsch, milk chocolate, savoury notes, perhaps some leather. Iodine and violets, as flashes. It’s in a good place. And it’s going to cellar well too.
