Leasingham Classic Clare Riesling 2012

Watervale riesling. Five-year-old Cellar Release. Bottle, thankfully, comes festooned with gold medal stickers; it doesn’t really feel like a Leasingham wine without them. It was judged as a gold medal standard at a number of shows in 2014, 2015 and 2016 it would seem.

Complex nose. Developed but bright. Orange rind, lime peel, wax and honey. It doesn’t go into kero but it flies close. The palate continues with the same themes, offering plenty of flavour, plenty of bounce, within a juicy, lengthy, mouthwatering context. In prime form and drinking condition now.

Alcohol : 12.5%
Price : $52
Closure : Screwcap
Drink : 2016 - 2022
