Lamoresca Nerocapitano 2016

So tempting to drop an ‘r’ into the name, though that would not be fair. I have a lot of Italian wine here to get though, and while it’s a dirty job, someone has to do it. Right? Importer: Mondo Imports.

Bramble fruit, aromatic dried herb and mead, almost chocolaty, but with plenty of spice too, and of course the typical Lamoresca funk. Medium bodied, like biting into barely ripe blackberries, especially with regards to the acidity, dusty grainy tannin, some charcuterie, dried herb perfume wafting about, and a hazelnut and meat finish of fine length. When we talk about a wine having ‘charisma’ or ‘personality’, well, here’s Exhibit A. Love it.
