Gewurztraminer is sourced from Forest Hill vineyard at Mount Barker and spends some time in oak to ferment and mature. Riesling and grauburgunder (pinot gris, cute!) join in on the mix. The wine is codenamed röck döts. Winemaker Andrew Hoadley played around with gewurz last year doing some ferments in ‘ancient Bunnings amphorae’ which became a skin contact version, sort of, of this wine. Lots of interesting things going on at La Violetta.
