Kooyong Pinot Noir 2004

Just released (I think) and might I add what a big fan I am of Kooyong. They are so hot right now. I had the 2003 Kooyong Meres the other night which was a very good wine and I think this is just as good. The wines all have a certain elegance and dry savoury quality that I find very attractive. There is complexity here as well as good fruit (but not too much of it) … and closed with Diam cork to boot. I am starting to really think these corks are the ants pants. Time will tell though …

Winemakers are travelling down two divergent paths to get away from TCA - one path is Diam corks and the other is screwcaps. Maybe a Beta versus VHS re-run over the next few years……

Beta was the superior system. We bought Betamax first.

No need for me to re-iterate the well worn cliche about you being a Beta loser then…ohh, I’ve already done it….

Kooyong fan as well here. Get your hands on some 2001 Haven Pinot Gary, very good gear. Outclassed 2003 Paringa Estate Reserve in my 2-up Pinotfest.
