Keith Tulloch The Kester Shiraz 2017

Shiraz from the Bainton vineyard, planted in 1923. Raised in puncheons. Includes 1% viognier as a co-ferment. Available September 2019. I’m not entirely sure Hunter Shiraz, in particular, needs any Viognier, though I’d say that about Shiraz in general.

Pretty, rose garden and jasmine, red fruits, liquorice and spice. Medium-bodied, bright and fresh, gentle insistent tannin, clean acidity, lively and precise, with a long perfumed, but lightly meaty/earthy finish. Gentle charm. Classic. Should age beautifully.
