Houghton Jack Mann Cabernet 2011

Cabernet Sauvignon 96%, Malbec 3%, Shiraz 1%. Shiraz did you say? Outrageous! Sent as a cleanskin, as it’s not labelled yet.

Blackcurrant, blackberry, aniseed, gum leaf, dark chocolate, tobacco, pencils. Very firm in the mouth with abundant black fruit, clear acidity and an imposing tannin structure. Commanding wine. Very long. Not red hot on the eucalypt notes, but it comes with the territory, and gee it’s bloody good regardless. I’d say it will cellar as long as you want to keep it. Feel the power. Respect My Authoritah!
