Giacomo Conterno Monfortino Barolo Riserva 2001

Two days into our tour of Barolo, and already a swag of notes to post. Joy for some, horror for others, perhaps. Anyway, starting at the very top. The price here is kind of a middle-range, as scarcity and reputation make this wine, perhaps, the DRC of Italy, though without all the gross new oak. Review of the 2008 to follow.

You need a subscription to The Wine Front to read this part of the post.
