Fraser Gallop Estate Parterre Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

Bordeaux blend, so to speak, from Margaret River. 85% cabernet sauvignon. 10% petit verdot. 2% merlot. 1% cabernet franc.

Beautiful wine. So well powered and so well structured. Pure blackcurrant, the grunt of gravel, bay leaf and dark olive. Oak adds texture more than flavour, though there’s just enough cedarwood and choc-mint character to make it feel both smooth and complete. There’s a tanginess to this wine but it has presence, and substance. Long future ahead.
