Domaine Raphael Chopin Les Charmes Morgon 2015

A new Beaujolais producer for me, a region I very much like drinking from and learning about. Morgon, organic farmed (not certified), nice n clean n fresh in style. Fuller flavoured, if anything, but purity is on its side. Natural fermentation, neutral vessels, away we go.

Bold, juicy Beajolais of bouncy, vibrant nature. Shows dark currant/plummy scents with whiffs of black cherry and lift of fennel/Chinese five spice. The palate offers a light, sappy textural character with concentrated, cherry juice kind of flavours gently staining the palate. It’s easy pleasure here, very satisfying, soft, simple, fruit driven glass of wine. Easy as.
