Devil’s Lair 9th Chamber Chardonnay 2015

Other than being single vineyard – chardonnay, Margaret River – I don’t know much about this wine. But then, what’s in the glass is all that matters. And the price.

It’s not dissimilar to the standard or estate offering but there’s the slightest hit of extra flesh, a mealy character to the flavour profile, and while the finish is similarly long it’s more seductive; here it’s slinky, spicy and soft. It’s hard to call this anything other than a superb wine, though its true quality won’t be properly revealed forget a few more years.
