Deep Woods Estate Reserve Chardonnay 2017

Never did get to try the 2016 Deep Woods Reserve Chardonnay. Must have missed it somewhere along the way.

Stylish wine with all the buttons done up, laces tied, tie knotted perfectly – that kind of wine. Light struck match, lime, white peach, nougat and spice. Light to medium-bodied, flinty and fine, gentle flavour, no great depth or concentration, but what’s there glides through the mouth most charmingly. Finish is good, a little citrus rind, but not quite emphatic in terms of length. It’s a little ‘finesse over flavour’, but a lovely wine all the same.
