De Iuliis Steven Vineyard Shiraz 2014

I opened a 2014 Tyrrell’s 4 Acres Shiraz last night to benchmark all the other wines I was tasting. This was the only wine that came within coo-ee of it for quality. 500 dozen made.

Boysenberry, light oak spice, brightness, aromatic dried herbs and clean earthiness – almost smells like it’s got some whole bunch lift. Medium bodied, plenty of flavour, savoury, precise, fine graphite tannin, great length. Dead set classic. Will cellar for as long as you need it to.

Tasted : Sep-15
Alcohol : 14.2%
Price : $40
Closure : Screwcap
Drink : 2018 - 2034+
