Dandelion Vineyards Wonderland of the Eden Valley Riesling 2010

A quick run though of a dozen or so Riesling the other night and they were uniformly good, unlike some other grapes. This was one of the highlights.

Crushed flint, energy and fine balance. It’s very dry and minerally showing lime, florals and spice with a pulpy, slightly bitter, lemon finish. Controlled and charismatic – savoury even. Stood out in a crowd for its depth, class and presence. Old vines, it seems.
