Chateau Thivin Cote de Brouilly Clos Bertrand 2014

BertrandI wish I had gone back-to-back on the 2013 reviewed here. I reckon it would have been a cool little tasting session alongside this wine. Nevertheless, the 2014 was given some due diligence on the tasting bench, and then given a mighty chill and drunk with gusto. Don’t often finish sample bottles (massive crime, yes, I know), but this bottle was drained and shaken out into glasses. Far out, this producer is good.

So fragrant; uplifting sweet cherry, pretty, musky spice, garrigue, warm terracotta, maraschino. Mixed up, it smells great. In the palate, lithe and light, crunchy-textured, pure-feeling and gently sweet but curled up in feathery tannins and a lick of amaro-herbal things. Finishes fresh and utterly mouthwatering. More, more. Thanks. Beautiful, graceful thing you are.
