Third growth from Margaux. It’s a chateau name I like saying. Giscours. Lovely.
Quite a lot of coffee and vanilla oak, floral, red and black fruit. Lighter, and seemingly waiting for oak to drop and perfume to build, attractive layered silty tannin, mineral feel to finish and some char wood tannin in the aftertaste. Looked a little light on for the first couple of days, then it resolved to fight and do the right thing: in the end it showed greater perfume and harmony in a medium bodied frame. Give it another five years minimum.
