Charlotte Dalton Love You Love Me Semillon 2016

cdBarrel fermented semillon from the Adelaide Hills. A belter. Summer of cricket starts today and this is (a) hit out of the ground (b) perfect line and length (c) seen off the middle of the bat. Or something like that. Charlotte Hardy is a talent and her fruit sources are evidently fine.

Striking, lemon and lemon blossom perfume, inviting, just kissed by sniffs of nougat and marzipan complexity. The palate is tight yet succulent, impressively long, ultra pure, layered in citrus-apple-herb flavour, shadowed by a lick of sweet spice. “F%$k me, what’s that!?’, exclaimed someone I poured it for. I’m excited by this. Bloody unreal.
