Chapel Hill Shiraz 2016

Solid release from Chapel Hill.

Nose is a bit reticent, if a little fumey, but the palate presents a ripe, rich core of curranty, plum-drenched fruit and does so in velvety style. You get volume and you get it served clean and well polished. Cream notes, clove notes, (dark) choc-mint-like notes; all are set to low, low levels, but all play their part. Redcurrant characters help brighten the finish. It’s as solid as the day is short, or long, depending on the season.
