Binbilla Good Friday Shiraz 2009

It was a great year for reds in the Hilltops region and Binbilla has taken full advantage. This is made by gun winemaker Nick O’Leary.

Beautiful fruit, beautiful oak, lovely composure and – in the finish – cleanly persistent. It’s an impeccable red wine. It tastes of dark cherry, kirsch, classy cedarwood and gum leaves. It’s smooth of texture and at the upper end of medium weight. It’s perfectly priced too. I don’t know much about Binbilla but clearly they are doing a lot of things right.

Alcohol : 14.5%
