Aphelion The Confluence Grenache 2017

The meeting point between The Aromat (100% de-stemmed) and The Verdant (100% whole bunch) grenaches from Aphelion. Fr0m two vineyards instead of the ‘test case’ vineyard, one being 50-years-old, the other the Aphelion staple 80-year-old bush vines.

A nice mesh of glossy texture, sweetish fruit characters, savoury-earthy-briary notes. Has a succulence to texture, also a gentle sweetness, a firm web of tannins lending structure, a cool, red-green berry spectrum to finish. Quite reserved, structured, fine in its presence, which leaves you searching for more in that enjoyable, moreish way. Feels sophisticated, very even. A very impressive, delicate grenache here.
